Preparation Method Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat.
  3. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, chicken broth, oregano, basil, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  5. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of the sauce. Top with a layer of lasagna sheets. Spread the ricotta cheese on top of the lasagna sheets.
  6. Repeat with another layer of sauce, lasagna sheets, ricotta cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 1 hour 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the sauce is hot and simmering.
