  2. Cut zucchini and squash lengthwise into thin slices.

  4. Place zucchini and squash slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Soak hickory chips in water for 30 minutes.
  6. Drain hickory chips and sprinkle them over the coals in the smoker.
