Preparation Method Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Scrub sweet potatoes clean and prick with a fork. Bake for 1 hour until tender.
  3. Let sweet potatoes cool slightly. Cut in half lengthwise and scoop out the flesh into a large bowl.
  4. Mash the sweet potato flesh until smooth.
  5. Add butter, brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and egg. Stir until well combined.
  6. If desired, stir in pecans.
  7. Transfer the sweet potato mixture back into the potato skins.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, or until heated through.
  9. Sprinkle marshmallows on top and return to the oven for 3-5 minutes, or until marshmallows are golden brown.
