  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Remove the chicken from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the giblets and neck from the chicken and discard. Rinse the chicken inside and out with cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture all over the chicken, inside and out.
  6. Open the can of beer and pour off about 1/4 cup.
  7. Place the chicken on the can of beer in a baking dish.
  8. Bake the chicken for about 1 hour 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before carving.
