Preparation Method Steps:

  1. Wash and dry the apples. Remove the stems and insert a candy stick or lollipop stick into the top of each apple.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the caramel has thickened slightly.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract.
  5. Dip each apple into the caramel, twisting it to evenly coat.
  6. Place the apples on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and let cool until the caramel has set, about 30 minutes.
