Preparation Method Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat. Drain the fat.
  3. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  5. Spread a thin layer of sauce onto the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  6. Lay out 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Top with half of the meat sauce, half of the ricotta cheese, and 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese.
  7. Repeat layers.
  8. Top with the remaining meat sauce, mozzarella cheese, and 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
