  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
  4. Alternately add the dry ingredients and the milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Beat until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the ricotta cheese and honey.
  6. Spread half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Top with the ricotta mixture and the quartered figs. Pour the remaining cake batter on top.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
