  1. In a large pot, brown the ham bone over medium heat. Remove the ham bone and set aside.
  2. Add the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the tomatoes, cannellini beans, navy beans, chicken broth, bay leaf, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  5. Add the ham bone back to the pot and continue simmering for an additional 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the ham bone and discard.
