Preparation Method Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Remove turkey from packaging and rinse inside and out. Pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, rosemary, sage, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Brush the inside and outside of the turkey with the oil mixture.
  5. Place turkey in a large roasting pan.
  6. Melt butter and pour over the turkey.
  7. Roast the turkey for 30 minutes at 425°F (220°C).
  8. Reduce oven temperature to 325°F (160°C) and roast for an additional 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) when inserted into the thickest part of the thigh.
  9. Remove turkey from the oven and let rest for 30 minutes before carving.
