Preparation Method Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 1 egg white, cream of tartar, sugar, and salt. Beat for 2 minutes with an electric mixer.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the remaining 3 egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold the egg whites into the cake batter.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. To frost the cake, cut a 3-inch circle out of the top of the cake. Remove a 1-inch-wide strip of cake from the center of the tunnel, leaving a 1/2-inch-thick wall around the edges.
  7. Fill the tunnel with strawberries and whipped cream. Replace the top of the cake and frost the entire cake with whipped cream.
  8. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the frosting.
