  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic and shallots until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add clams and reserved liquor to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until clams open, about 5 minutes. Remove clams and set aside.
  4. Increase heat to high. Add white wine and reduce by half, about 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in butter and allow it to melt. Add panko breadcrumbs and stir to combine.
  6. Add reserved clams back to the skillet and stir to coat. Add reserved pasta water as needed to create a sauce.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
